Lens of Reason is a series of very brief quotable perspectives on the world.
Lens of Reason 14 - Dystopia
We are living in a manufactured dystopia from which we then ask the dystopian dealers to save us.
Society seems to be in a spiral trap in which the problems it suffers are created by the institutions that were put into place to protect society from such very problems.
At each step, the problems worsen and at each step, society reaches out to those who created the problems to save it.
Nobody is coming to save you. They only come to own you.
“Nobody can save you but yourself.
You will be put again and again into nearly impossible situations.
They will attempt again and again through subterfuge, guise and force to make you submit, quit and/or die quietly inside
…
Nobody can save you but yourself and you’re worth saving.
It’s a war not easily won but if anything is worth winning then this is it.”
― Charles Bukowski
