Excellent article. To your point about Chat GPT is not as effective as a high schooler, what happens when we are fooled into thinking it is, and sit high schoolers in front of it, even to supplement kids education? Disaster.
I suspect that the hype cycle is being used here as gradual approximation so that some type of technology can be put in place just like "The Science" supplanted actual science and observation.

Listened to recent AJones interview where he postulated that due to the level of extreme and varied adverse reactions to the covid vaccinations, he believes AI was involved in its genetic formulation. the covid lockstep in its coercive global deployment and non-stop attacking dissenting voices is also revealing a real malevelance towards humanity.
Not sure that alone is indicative of AI. Many toxic substances have extremely varied effects on individuals. The recognized side effects of many drugs is quite long and varied.
DK, yep. I am just sharing one man's opinion. My take on it we really dont know but should assume it is being used to enhance weapon systems and social media and internet of ideas--anyway to gain a tactical advantage is the standard OS to I expect we are seeing it more areas than we think. And that is the problem, we in the West are using and pushing AI solutions out of fear of China or Russia or whomever...fear is going to predevelope the worst aspects of this technology just as it was with the Manhattan Project and the entire Cold War weapons programs. Not a fan Franklin Roosevelt, but he said it best "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

AI is somewhat a master of illusions even when it fails at many other tasks. I think to some degree some have consumed their own hype Kool-Aid.
