"AI is empowering vast content farms with enormous resources that are intent on making your existence irrelevant and undiscoverable, as you are buried under the noise of it all." - I find the way you put this very insightful. The poetry world has been suffering from this phenomenon for several decades, but especially so since the advent of social media. With poetry it was an accident. Fascinating to witness it used as a strategy.
As a poet myself, I'd like to know and understand more about how the "poetry world has been suffering..." I think you mean from copyright violations, but that isn't clear.
Perhaps, because I don't, or rarely put my work online, that I am not seeing this, but our poem may have been uploaded by others, including publishers, or third-parties. Now, I have to wonder if there might be scraping of such web resources as Submittable, our private emails, or even private writing classes that meet online?
Hi Joy. Thanks for asking. I'm not addressing any kind of plagiarism; I'm pointing out how social media inundated the world with "poetry" that is no poetry at all, but drowns out its betters with the sheer amount of its kind, flooding the information field.
"AI will help us cure cancer", but before we achieve that, let's destroy the internet and destroy the livelihood of millions of people after we stole their original content which we now use to make them irrelevant and obsolete.
Gen AI is the most harmful technology every invented. Fuck everyone who contributed to it starting from the walking talking filth Sam Altman.
